Boiler Service and Maintenance
Gasmart South West can service all types of boiler systems across Yeovil – Somerset, Sherborne – Dorset and surrounding areas. We are Gas Safe and Oftec registered and have experience working with gas, oil and LPG systems in both domestic and commercial environments.
Does my boiler need to be serviced?
Regular servicing of your boiler and central heating system is essential to ensure it is running smoothly and efficiently. Over time build up of soot or other exhaust particles can impair the performance of your boiler, and potentially lead to breakdowns or other problems. If you notice that you aren’t getting as much hot water as normal or it runs out too soon or find that your home isn’t as warm when the heating is running, these are signs you should book a boiler service.
As well as preventing breakdowns and malfunctions, an annual boiler service is often a requirement to validate a manufacturer’s warranty. Typically boiler servicing is a relatively small annual cost, which can prevent more expensive problems arising, and in many cases will improve the boiler’s efficency and actually reduce heating costs in the long run.
What happens in a boiler service?
- Visual inspection – we will check that the boiler still meets current standards and requirements and look for any corrosion or leaks. We will also visually check the flame in your boiler.
- Removal of the boiler casing – inside the boiler we will check components including the heat exchanger, burner, main injector and spark probe. The inside of the boiler will be cleaned to remove any soot or residue.
- Flue check – we will ensure there are no obstructions in the flue terminals and that the flue is safely fitted.
- Pressure check – this will ensure your boiler is working at the correct pressure.
- Boiler fired up – Finally we will check for any working faults by starting the boiler and making sure everything is working as expected and that your hot water and heating services are operating correctly and efficiently.
